Frequently Asked Questions

What does it mean that your lifting trolley are “100% Made in Italy”?

It means that the analysis of requirements and application conditions, the planning creativity and the implemented solutions are studied to offer “true” solutions to the real working needs of factories and installers; this also means that the manufacturing quality is in line with the best Emilian craft tradition and that the possible technical assistance can be carried out quickly, supplying you immediately with the spare parts, if any.

Do your lifting trolley require complex maintenance cycles?

Our lifting trolleys are characterized by a simple functional mechanics and they are built to have a long life. So, except the correct cleaning of mobile parts and the usual check of screw and bolt clamping, GOLIA lifting trolleys do not usually require special maintenance cycles. In case of heavy duty operations, some components could be subject to a normal wear, requiring to be replaced. However, should the replacement of any details be necessary, our direct customer service is always rapid and punctual.

How is it possible that I can lift heavy loads with a battery-operated screwer?

Obviously, the machine is equipped with a special reduction unit, expressly conceived to exploit in the best way the power and speed features of modern professional screwers. And if the screwer has the required characteristics, you will not have any problems…

What can I do, if the screwer’s battery runs down?

Each lifting trolley is equipped with an emergency handle, which enables you to carry out lifting and/or lowering operations manually. The effective reduction unit installed on the machine gears down a lot the force required for any operation and guarantees its execution without effort, even in case of heavy loads.

How is it possible that a simple “belt” can bear such heavy loads?

The main drive belt seems to be made of plastic and this can lead you to undervalue its mechanical features. But the belt is actually made of a very sturdy steel-wired strip completely coated with a nylon matrix, whose only purpose is to maintain its correct alignment and avoid any possible kink (problem that frequently occurs in the machines using common steel cables for power and movement transmission).

What would it happen, if the belt broke down? Could the load fall down to the ground?

We immediately point out that this event is extremely unlikely and has never happened so far. However – talking about quality and safety – this is a legitimate doubt and it is correct to reply adequately. Even though the provisions in force do NOT provide for any obligations on this subject, we have decided to equip all our lifting trolleys with parachute systems. Some models have two drive belts, one “working” belt and one “safety” belt: if the first belt breaks down, the second one will come into tension, guaranteeing in any case the correct operation of the lifting trolley. But, on the other hand, all the models not equipped with the second belt have a safety inertial automatic parachute. Besides the provisions in force, we believe that safety is never optional and must be always “standard”.

Do your lifting trolley comply with the Safety provisions in force?

Obviously yes. Our lifting trolleys have a regular Compliance Declaration and are equipped with a comprehensive Instructions Manual. Moreover, with their correct application you can comply effectively with the current provisions in force in the sector of load lifting and handling. On the contrary, as far as some specific aspects are concerned (such as the parachute system), we can serenely declare that GOLIA lifting trolleys exceed by far the specifications provided for by the law.

But are they stable? Do they risk overturning, when the load is lifted?

Absolutely not. If correctly applied and positioned, our lifting trolleys are designed and manufactured to guarantee a high stability level, even in case of maximum lifting positions. For some models the big working base alone is largely sufficient, while others are equipped with stabilizers. If required, the stabilizers are always a standard accessory.

Can GOLIA lifting trolley be transported on a van?

Except GOLIA Glass, which has to be loaded into vehicles by means of forklift trucks or cranes because of its weight and dimensions, all other models have been expressly designed to be folded back, loaded and unloaded without the assistance of other people. And for this purpose they have been equipped with special mechanisms able to favour loading and unloading operations.

May I have an additional copy of Compliance Declaration and Manual?

Obviously yes: you only have to ask for it on the order.

What can I do, if I have a special requirement not met by models and accessories available on the catalogue?

Please call us and let's talk about it. In fact many solutions currently reported on the catalogue have been just conceived in similar situations, that is talking with Customers, who had special requirements not met by the solutions available on the catalogue. We will talk about it together to estimate the possible feasibility of a new solution and/or the realization of a new “custom-made” accessory in line with your requirements
